R.I.P. M-Bone. According to Willied.com reports, 22-year-old Cali Swag District rapper Montae “MBone” Talbert was shot dead last night.
M-Bone — one the of the members of the rap group Cali Swag District — died last night …
Earlier this morning, the group’s leader, Smoove — posted a Tweet saying, “Ma life changed drastically in the. Blink of an eye rip mbone.”
Cali Swag District shot to stardom with their hit, “Teach Me How to Dougie.”
Early Monday, police would not provide details on how he died, but speculation runs rampant that Talbert was shot and killed in front of a liquor store in L.A.’s Inglewood neighborhood late Sunday.
While police would not confirm that the victim in Inglewood was Talbert — they’re still in the process of notifying the victim’s next of kin — they did talk to us about the incident itself.
The Inglewood Police Department told RadarOnline.com that around 10:30pm Sunday, when officers were called to 416 N. La Brea Boulevard in response to a shooting call, they found a black male adult slumped over the steering wheel in the driver’s seat of a black car.
“The man had been shot twice in the head,” police told RadarOnline.com. “He was taken by paramedics to nearby hospital, where he died.
“Police said a witness told them that “the man was sitting in the driver’s seat of the car when suspects approached in a separate car… [and fired] two gun shots at the man.”
Now it appears the driveby may not have been random after all.
Our sources say M-Bone’s friends have been in touch with cops, telling investigators after he got back to L.A. from his tour, he got involved with a girl. M-Bone’s friends say a guy who lived in the woman’s building didn’t like the relationship, and allegedly began threatening M-Bone via Twitter.
We’re told M-Bone did not back down and the two men started cyber smack-talking each other.
Willied.com has learned … the black car in which M-Bone was shot is registered to the woman.
Cops are trying to figure out why M-Bone was driving the woman’s car and whether the cyber war is in any way related to the shooting.
And one more important detail. Witnesses tell , the shooter fired, left, then pulled a U-turn and came back around, possibly to see if he hit his target.
