Today I've been taking a beating from people because I said Obama took a beating in last night's debate. Well, he did. If I don't do anything else in life I will keep it real with you 100% of the time even when it's not popular to be real. Here's why I said Obama took a beating. No matter how you perceive it the debates are a contest. In any contest someone has to win and someone has to lose. Obama was the loser not because he isn't the best candidate but because he didn't articulate his message convincingly enough to undecided voters. He doesn't have to convince those of us who know the truth. His policies and his decency as a human being is head and shoulders above Mitt Romney's but when you're listening to two people basically interviewing for a job and arguing as to why they deserve to be picked for the position you're going to go with the one who "sounds" more convincing. Even though he was lying through his outsourcing, piss on the little man teeth, last night Mitt Romney was the dude who sounded more convincing.
I don't know what the hell was on Obama's mind but he seemed aloof and shaken, like maybe a major military operation or something is going on abroad that we don't know about. He missed an opportunity to pound Romney into the ground. He big time failed to address the 47% of Americans that Mittens said he doesn't care about and while Romney was doing all that lying about how he's going to create jobs for Americans, Obama never once called him out on the fact that when he did have a chance to put Americans to work he imposed massive layoffs and shipped their jobs overseas.
Obama had his foot on Romney's neck and he let him get up. Bad move. He should have finished him off and expunged any doubt. Even if Obama is trying to set him up for a late rally in the ensuing debates he should have been more effective than he was. I do believe that this will be a learning opportunity for Obama and that he will bounce back to destroy Romney in the next two debates. And he better because the learning curve is short and just like in boxing, if you take your opponent too lightly at any point during the course of battle you could get knocked the f--- out.
Who do you think won the first debate between Obama and Romney and will it effect how you will vote in the U.S. Presidential Election?
